McCANDLESS, Pa. - La Roche women's basketball matches up against Medaille College this Saturday, January 25th at the Kerr Fitness Center. The Redhawks return home after being on the road their last two games. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.

La Roche (OVR: 11-5, AMCC: 11-1)

Last Time Out: The Redhawks lost their first conference game of the season last Wednesday on the road at Penn St. Altoona, 91-76. Penn St. Altoona outscored first place La Roche 53-34 in the last two quarters, defeating the Redhawks for the first time in nearly three years. Entering Wednesday's contest, La Roche was 10-0 when leading at the half this season. The Redhawks committed 15 of their season-high 25 turnovers in the second half. The Lions scored 34 points off those turnovers. Danajah Sanders put up a season-high 18 points shooting, 6 of 15 (40%) from the field and 5 of 6 (83%) from the free throw line. Jenna Cole scored 17 points while shooting an efficient 7 of 11 (64%) from the field and 2 of 3 (67%) from three-point range. The close game saw seven ties and ten lead changes.

News and Notes

  • La Roche still remains the top spot in the AMCC standings with an 11-1 conference record. Hilbert, who the Redhawks defeated just two games ago 84-69 at the Kerr, are just one game in the standings at 10-2 in conferece play.
  • Wednesday's loss ended a 16 game conference regular season win streak for La Roche.
  • Against the conference, LRU has averaged 73.8 points per game (2nd in AMCC).
  • The Redhawks offense has been efficient in AMCC action as well, shooting 45% from the field (1st in AMCC) and 35% from beyond the arc (2nd in AMCC).

  • Medaille won their first and only game of the season on January 15th against Alfred State, 64-58.
  • The Mavericks are led by 5'10" Junior forward Morgan Kennedy who averages 16.5 points per game (3rd in AMCC) and 8.4 rebounds per game (7th in AMCC).

Donation bins will be placed at the entrance of the Kerr . In just the first week, donations have already begun pouring in.
