AMCC Games of the Week: LRU at Mt. Aloysius

The La Roche University baseball team will face-off against Mt. Aloysius College on the road in the AMCC Games of the Week on Monday, April 26th. The doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. The Redhawks and the Mounties are both 10-0 in conference play this season and tied for first place in the conference standings.

La Roche News and Notes

  • The undefeated Redhawks have won all ten of their games so far this season, outscoring their opponents 98-17.
  • LRU last played a week ago on April 19th. They defeated Pitt Greensburg in two games 7-0, 11-3.
  • La Roche has held their opponents to an average of 1.7 runs per game.
  • Senior Austin Hoffman leads the AMCC with a .500 batting average. He also ranks second in the conference in homeruns (5) and ranks first in AMCC games with 22 RBI. Hoffman is one of only 11 players in NCAA D-III  with a batting average of .500 or better who have at least 40 at bats
  • Senior Jay Novak ranks fourth in the conference with a .450 batting average. Novak ranks second on the team in hits (18), doubles (5), RBI (14) and has the teams only triple.
  • On the mound, senior pitcher Jake Seymour leads the conference with a 0.00 ERA in 20.1 innings pitched, while also being tied for second with three wins. Seymour is the only pitcher in NCAA D-III with a 0.00 ERA who has pitched at least 20.0 innings. The ace has thrown 17 strikeouts and three walks.
  • Senior Mike Nuzzo is second in the conference rankings with a 1.50 ERA and averages 9.75 strikeouts per nine innings.
  • Junior Zach Oddi ranks fourth in the conference with a 1.93 ERA and Tristan Tinney ranks sixth with a 2.31 ERA.
  • As a team, the Redhawks lead the conference with a .371 batting average and rank second with 12 home runs.

Mount Aloysius News and Notes

  • Also with a 10-0 AMCC record, Mount Aloysius enters the Games of the Week scoring more than twice as much as their conference counterparts.
  • The Mounties have scored 103 runs in league play, while their opponents have scored 48.
  • Senior outfielder Brayden Lackey leads the AMCC with 26 RBIs, while freshman UTIL Troy Emert is tied for second with 25 RBIs.
  • Junior Jeremy Iellimo leads the Mounties with a .406 batting average.
  • On the mound, junior Dylan Coyle is tied for the lead in the AMCC with four wins, while Doug Cannon is tops with six saves.
  • As a team, the Mounties rank first in the conference with 176 runs scored and are fourth with nine home runs on the year.
