Redhawks Win Second Straight, Defeat Medaille 5-0

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche University women's soccer team defeated Medaille College 5-0 Saturday afternoon in a conference matchup. LRU opened up the first period with two goals scored by senior forward Alondra Gonzalez. The Redhawks didn't stop there as they tacked on three more goals in the second half. The Redhawks improve to 4-6-1 and 2-0-1 in AMCC play. LRU has won two straight games. Medaille moves to 2-9.

  • Redhawks Alondra Gonzalez opened the game with a bursting goal along with an assist by Alexis Nudds.

  • Alondra Gonzalez is back at it again with another goal while Chastity Bundy collects the assist making the score 2-0 in the first.

  • We move to the second with goalie Casey Semenko being swapped out for Bella Costanzo.

  • A foul on Medaille is called and Redhawk Alexis Nudds takes the PK and scores as the score changes to 3-0.

  • Carola Corbi comes in just minutes later scoring La Roche's fourth goal with an assist by the hustler Alexis Nudds.

  • A yellow card is called on Medaille's Gabriella Accurso.

  • La Roche's team leader in goals, Alondra Gonzalez walks up for the PK and slams it in for the fifth goal of the game. Score moves to 5-0.

  • Goalie Casey Semenko walks away with the win in goal while also racking up 9 straight saves.
