Redhawks Take Part In AMCC #1 Baker Play Over Weekend

KENMORE, N.Y. – La Roche women's bowling traveled to Kenmore, N.Y. this weekend to take part in AMCC #1, baker play, hosted by Hilbert College.

The Redhawks ended the weekend with a record of 2-8, tying for ninth place in the process.

La Roche totaled 7,087 pins over the 10 matches, giving itself an average per game score of 141.7.

On opening night, the Redhawks squared off against Pitt-Greensburg and Alvernia, falling in to the Bobcats 724-662 and then 902-673 to the Wolves.

Saturday saw La Roche in five matchups. The first three matches were defeats at the hands of Pitt-Bradford (767-731), St. Vincent (817-770) and New Jersey City (787-634).

The Redhawks bounced back with a pair of victories to close the day, defeating Mt. Aloysius by a final of 733-610, the upended Penn State Altoona 722-699 in a close one.

In Sunday's final leg of the weekend, La Roche was unable to hold the fortunes of later Saturday, falling in all three matches to William Smith (895-711), Penn State Behrend (731-712) and Hilbert (756-739).

The Redhawks closed out the first portion of the 2023-24 season and now await the new year before returning to the lanes, when they take part in the Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic, beginning on January 13, 2024.
