That's a Wrap: Softball; Three Redhawks Receive All-Conference Honors

PITTSBURGH, PA - This season was a bumpy season for the Redhawks filled with injuries, lots of rescheduling, but a whole lot of fun. La Roche softball finished their season 11-15 overall, and 6-10 in conference.

Starting right off with some victories, Ashtin Hoover led the team in hits this season with 38, Hoover also contributed 17 RBIs,  and six stolen bases. She finished the year with a batting average of .452, and a slugging percentage of .619 percent. Hoover also was an example in the field with 59 total chances, 51 putouts, and six assists for a final fielding percentage of .966 percent.

Kelly Denk, the lone senior, ended her final season at La Roche leading in runs batted in with 24. Denk also had 33 hits, and five stolen bases. She only struck out twice throughout the entire season. She finished up with a .375 batting average, and a .477 slugging percentage.

Emilee Waldrop led in the circle with a 4.95 ERA after 63.2 innings pitched. Waldrop struck out 19, and allowed zero home runs. She finished her freshman season with a record of 5-5.

Garrah Milochik also had an incredible freshman season. She finished the season with a fielding percentage of .874 percent. Her final batting average was .449. Milochik's highlights were six doubles and one triple. She recorded 35 hits and 17 RBIS.

Last, but certainly not least, the Redhawk who led in the field was Jesslyn Daniels. Daniels had 97 total chances, 93 putouts, and two assists. She finished up her season with a .979 fielding percentage.

As we close this season we also say farewell to head coach Orie Gentile. Coach Gentile finished up with 26th season this year with La Roche having decided it's finally time for him to hang up his wings and retire. He will truly be missed around the La Roche Campus and the dugouts, but we're excited for him and this next chapter in his life.
