Men's Soccer Suffers Loss to Medaille

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche Redhawks men's soccer team fell to Medaille College Saturday afternoon by a final score of 6-0. La Roche now stands at 7 losses this season and 1 victory, while the Mavericks claim their 7th victory, with 3 losses and a single tie.

La Roche failed to claim victory in this home game, as Medaille quickly claimed their first goal 13 minutes into the first period, and would continue to score an additional 3 goals before the period ended, with a total of 30 shots while the RedHawks hadn't made any.

La Roche did strengthen their defense for the second period though were still outmatched, making a single shot by Forward #6 Zaki Khour (Pittsburgh, PA / Taylor Allderdice), sophomore forward and only allowing 2 goals and 21 shots from the Mavericks.

3 of the Medaille goals were by Ander Castilo, #19, with no recorded assists for any of them. Joey Zachary, #3, scored 2 goals, one of which was assisted by Castilo on one and by Joseph Avallone, #16. The 6th was scored by Charlie Stewart, #23 with an assist by Eric Metade, #7.

The final tally stands at 51 shots for Medaille, with 26 of them being shots on goal, and a single shot for La Roche, which was also a shot on goal..

La Roche Junior Defender Jake Goreman, #9 (Ambridge, PA / Ambridge), played the role of goalie for the entire game, having 20 saves and allowing 6 goals.
