McCANDLESS, Pa. - The La Roche University men's soccer team released it's Fall 2021 schedule on Tuesday.
The Redhawks will play a total of 15 regular season games (eight conference, seven non-conference) from September 1 to October 26. Eight of those games will be played at La Roche's home field, the Baierl Athletic Complex. LRU did not play any NCAA sanctioned games during the 2020-21 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spring 2021, the team went 2-2-1 in exhibition play.
LRU opens their season with seven non-conference games, six against schools from the President Athletics Conference (PAC). The Redhawks will travel for their first three games, visiting Geneva (9/1 at 7:00 p.m.), Waynesburg (9/8 at 7:00 p.m.) and Franciscan (9/11 at 1:00 p.m.).
The white and red will play their home opener on Monday, September 13 versus Westminster at 5:00 p.m. Two days later on Wednesday, September 15, men's soccer host Allegheny College in a non-conference match at 4:30 p.m. LRU then hits the road for their final two non-conference games against St. Vincent (9/16 at 4:00 p.m.) and Washington and Jefferson (9/22 at 7:00 p.m.).
La Roche opens their conference schedule against Hilbert College at home on Saturday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. A week later, they travel to Pitt Bradford to take on the Panthers in a Saturday matchup (10/2). After another weeks rest, the Redhawks host 2019 regular season champion Medaille College on Saturday, October 9 at 4:00 p.m.
LRU then travels to Penn St. Altoona to play under the lights on Tuesday, October 12 at 8:15 p.m. Four days later (10/16) they travel to Erie, PA to face the 8x AMCC Tournament Champions, Penn St. Behrend at 4:30 p.m.
The Redhawks play their final two regular season home contests against Mt. Aloysius on Wednesday, October 20 at 3:30 p.m. and Alfred State on Saturday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. LRU will celebrate "Senior Day" prior to their final home match against Alfred State.
The regular season comes to a close on the road against Pitt Greensburg on Tuesday, October 26.
