Women's Lacrosse Second, Softball Fourth In AMCC Preseason Polls

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - La Roche women's lacrosse and softball saw the releases of AMCC preseason polls, as lacrosse is slated to finish second and softball is tabbed fourth.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Women's lacrosse enters the season joining the AMCC after previously competing in the United East.

Four teams make up the AMCC for women's lacrosse and the Redhawks saw themselved selected second.

Mt. Aloysius took the top spot, while Hilbert and Wells followed La Roche, tying for the third spot.

Goalkeeper Jules Hornikel earned preseason honors, being named Preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year, while Jasey Reiser also saw her name on the players to watch list on the offensive side.

The ladies open the 2024 season on Saturday, Mar. 3 on the road against Wilson, then the home opener follows on Wednesday, Mar. 7 against Waynesburg.

SOFTBALL

La Roche softball enters the season ranked fourth in the preseason poll, matching its final placement in 2023.

Preceeding the Redhawks are Mt. Aloysius and Penn State Behrend, tying for the top spot, while Penn State Altoona was selected third.

Following La Roche and rounding out the top five is Pitt-Bradford.

In the six through 10 wave, rounding out the poll, is newcomer Carlow, followed by Pitt-Greensburg, Alfred State, Hilbert and another newcomer, Wells.

Junior's Garrah Milochik and Emma Bizay earned preseason player to watch honors, with Milochik as one of the team's best offensive threats and Bizay who is a premier defender.
