Spear and McDonald Recognized on All-AMCC Teams

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - La Roche Senior setter Bailey McDonald (Pittsburgh, PA/Bishop Canevin) and Junior middle hitter Ingrid Spear (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) earned spots Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference teams for the first time in their careers.

The league announced the annual All-AMCC teams, as well as the major award winners on Wednesday morning. Spear received Second Team honors and McDonald Third Team.

Bailey led the Redhawks in total assists this season with 492 and 4.97 assists per set; both rank 7th in the AMCC. On October 16th, 2019, McDonald had a career-high 39 assists against Penn St. Altoona. She recorded double-digit assists in 26 of 27 matches. McDonald was also stellar on the defensive front this season. She recorded 209 total digs (2.11 per set), 3rd on the team. On Oct. 19, she collected a career-high 23 digs to go along with 32 assists against Penn St. Behrend. The Senior had seven double-doubles in her final year (10+ assists & 10+ digs).

Spear led the conference in total blocks (89), blocks per set (0.91) and ranked second in D-III in solo blocks (55). Ingrid had a single game career-high 6 total blocks on three sperate occasions this season (10/2 vs. Mt. Aloysius, 10/8 vs. Pitt Greensburg & 10/19 vs. Penn St. Behrend). The Junior was also second on the team in total kills (173) and kills per set (1.77).
