Women's tennis coach Stephanie Smith enters her second season at the helm of the program in 2020-21. Smith became the head coach of LRU tennis in the summer of 2019. In her first season, Smith led the Redhawks to three wins, including two over conference opponents Penn St. Behrend and Pitt Greensburg.

Smith is currently the Head Assistant Tennis Pro at Lakevue Athletic Club, the home courts for LRU tennis. She has taught tennis for over eight years.

A native of Venetia, PA, Smith played Division I tennis for Marshall University from 2016-2018. Her junior and senior year she was named to the All-Conference USA Singles Second Team. Smith excelled in the classroom too, she was on the C-USA Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and an ITA Scholar Athlete. She was also named Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 4, 2018, becoming the first Marshall player to win the award in seven years.

Prior to transferring to Marshall, Smith played two seasons for Division I Indiana University. In high school, Smith was a five-star recruit and listed as the 40th best player in the nation by tennisrecruiting.net. She was the 2012 Pennsylvania High School state doubles champion, reached the quarterfinals of the 2013 National Clay Court Championship and was a two-time US Open Sectional Qualifying champion.
