BUTLER, Pa. - Last night, the Women's Tennis Team lost their first match of the season against Thiel 6-3. Even though the Redhawks lost, new Head Coach, Stephanie Smith, was encouraged by the performance she saw from her team.
Redhawks Junior Rochelle Selzer won her first singles matchup handily without losing a single game (6-0, 6-0) against Thiel Senior Shyann Foreman. At first doubles, Selzer teamed up with Freshman Alexandra Jaksec and defeated the duo of Natalie Zgurich and Angela Campbell 8-4. Jakesec also won her singles matchup against Zgurich in a very close match (3-6, 6-1, 11-9).
Women's Tennis new home for the 2019-2020 season will be at Lakevue Athletic Club in Butler, Pa.
