Buffalo Weekend: Redhawks Endure Tough Loss at D'Youville 5-4, Medaille Takes Saturday Match 6-3

Friday Night: The La Roche women's tennis team endured a tough 5-4 loss at D'Youville College in their opening match in the Buffalo Area. They fall to 2-4 overall but are right in the thick of the things in the AMCC at 2-2.

The difference in the match came during doubles play. The Redhawks came up on the losing end in all three doubles pairings. La Roche's depth showed in the end, with the Redhawks earning victories at singles #3-#6.

Miranda Lasher was pefect at #3 singles, sweeping a 6-0, 6-0 matchup. Rebecca Franks battled to a 7-5, 6-2 victory at #4 singles while Alexandra Mroczkowski cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at #6 singles.

Jazmyn Davis picked up a milestone victory, earning her first-ever win in singles play. She went 6-2, 6-1 at #5 singles to earn the win.

Saturday Afternoon: Medaille topped the Redhawks 6-3 in Saturday action, as La Roche fell to 2-5 and 2-3 in the AMCC. 

Lasher and King combined for a hard fought 8-6 victory at #1 singles. La Roche nearly stepped up and took victories at #2 and #3 doubles, but Medaille squeaked out 9-7 wins at both spots.

King took a 6-2, 6-4 victory at #2 singles. Lasher continued her torrid pace winning 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles.
