Tennis Opens Season Against AMCC Champions

The La Roche women's tennis team traveled  to Steubenville, OH to open the season against a tough conference opponent. The Redhawks fought AMCC Champion Franciscan valiantly, but dropped their opening match 9-0.

La Roche fell behind 3-0 after doubles play. Kirsten King and Miranda Lasher teamed at #1 doubles while Alexandra Mroczkowski made her collegiate debut, teaming with Rochelle Selzer at second doubles. Rebecca Franks and Jazmyn Davis battled at #3 doubles.

Lasher nearly knocked off a victory at #3 singles, before falling 7-5, 6-0. Selzer played AMCC Player of the Year, Madelyn Conrad, tough for two straight sets. Five of six Redhawks earned points in singles play.

La Roche continues their toughest stretch of the year, hosting Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
