Redhawks Tennis Primed to Return to Postseason

Redhawks Tennis Primed to Return to Postseason

The La Roche women's tennis team finished just one win shy of a spot in the 2017 AMCC Championship Tournament. The Redhawks are primed to return to the postseason in 2018.

Depth played a role last season, with the Redhawks losing half of their matches 5-4. Depth will not be a factor this season, with 5 of La Roche's 6 starters returning for the 2018 campaign.

Rochelle Selzer is expected to take the leap into La Roche's top position. Selzer was an AMCC All-Confernece Second Teamer last season and led the AMCC with a nearly perfect 7-1 record at #2 singles.

Kirsten King teamed with Selzer to form one of the top doubles pairings in the AMCC. King was 5-3 at #3 singles last season.

Miranda Lasher is a 3-year starter and went a very formidable 8-3 at #4 singles.

Rebecca Franks went 5-4 overall and a 4-2 in the AMCC while Jazmyne Davis put together a solid 2017 season.

Sophomore Alexandra Mroczkowski and freshman Esther Wood are welcome editions to the squad.

The Redhawks open at AMCC Champion Franciscan on September 1. They return to campus for a September 4 home-opener against Thiel.
