Nudds' Hat Trick Leads Offensive Explosion In 11-0 Win Over Wells

AURORA, N.Y. – La Roche women's soccer used a dominant eight goal first half to earn its first win in AMCC play, defeating Wells 11-0.

La Roche was incredible on the offensive end, peppering the Wells goalkeeper with program records of 70 total shots and 42 shots on goal.

It took just 2:18 seconds for the Redhawks to hit the scoreboard, when Alexis Nudds netted her second of the season, assisted by Alexandra Mecchia.

La Roche, just five minutes later, found the back of the net twice in five seconds, first at 7:50 when Kayla Mull scored the first of her collegiate career off Mecchia's second assist, then at 7:55, Mecchia was on the scoring end with her first of the season, assisted by Finnleigh Gould.

In the 16th minute, the Redhawks scored twice in 30 seconds, coming at 16:03 with Zaida Gonzalez Rosado's first of the season, assisted by Grace Motuk, followed by Nudd's second of the game at 16:33, assisted by Victoria Biagetti.

At 29:13, Gould found the back of the net for her third of the season, assisted by Nudds, and the final two goals of the half came at 42:40 as Teresa Munoz Torrado scored her first, helped by Kiki Nemcek, and the duo flipped at 44:41, with Nemcek socring and Torrado picking up the helper.

Out of the half, Nudds and the La Roche offense wasted no time adding to the total, as Nudds netted the hat trick just 1:33 into the fresh 45 minutes, assisted by Mecchia.

Just over five minutes later, Biagetti picked up her second of the season, as Nudds this time distributed the helper.

At 73:41, Motuk found the back of the net, scoring on a penalty kick, this upping the score to 11-0 and ending the scoring.

Nudds finished with a game high 12 shots, nine of which were on target, while Gould had 11 shots (six on goal) and Mecchia and Gabriella Fazio both had seven shots and four on goal each.

The Redhawks defense limited the Express to just one shot, which was on goal, and keeper Julianna Hornikel made the stop to pick up the clean sheet.

La Roche now prepares for a trip to Mt. Aloysius on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. looking to make it two straight in conference play.
