ERIE, Pa. – La Roche women's soccer traveled to Penn State Behrend on Saturday to open AMCC play, but unfortunately fell by a final score of 5-0.

After a scoreless first 26 minutes, Behrend would find the back of the net three times between 26:44 and 40:32 to take a 3-0 lead into the half.

The fourth goal scored by the hosts came 8:04 into the second half, and the final tally was scored at 87:53.

Julianna Hornikel started the game in net for the Redhawks and stopped two of five shots she faced, playing the first half.

Casey Semenko played the second half and stopped seven of nine shots she faced.

For the game, Behrend outshot La Roche 31-2, with 15 of 31 on goal for Behrend, while La Roche had one.

Alexis Nudds had the lone shot on goal, while Alexandra Mecchia registered the other shot.

The Redhawks now return home for the conference home opener, when they host Penn State Altoona on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.
