PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Wednesday evening, the La Roche women's soccer team defeated Thiel College 2-1 thanks to an overtime goal from sophomore midfielder Alexis Nudds (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop). The OT game-winner is the first goal of Nudds' young career. The Redhawks are now 2-5 overall this season, with both wins coming in front of their home crowd at the Baierl Athletic Complex.

Senior forward Alondra Gonzalez (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) scored her second goal of the season in the 30th minute of the match to put La Roche ahead 1-0 in the first half. The Tomcats tied the game in the 55th minute to make it 1-1. Nudd's scored the game-winner in the 98th minute of the match off an assist from junior midfielder Kaylyn Cannon (Pittsburgh, PA/Carrick). 

LRU out-shot Thiel 14 to 10 and 9 to 5 in shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Bella Costanzo(Carnegie, PA/OLSH) got the start in the contest. She played the first half and returned for the overtime period. Costanzo made one save and did not allow a goal.

UP NEXT: Women's soccer plays their conference opener at home on Saturday, September 25th against Hilbert. Game-time is set for 2:00 PM.
