La Roche Women's Soccer 2019 Team Awards

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche women's soccer team announced their team awards for the 2019 season Tuesday morning. Junior goalkeeper Isabelle Orange (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player and freshman forward Ashley Mineard (Beaver Falls, PA/Quigley Catholic) was dubbed the Offensive Most Valuable Player. Both student-athletes were recently placed on the AMCC Academic All-Conference team for their performances in the classroom.

Orange was named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. She was the only goalkeeper in the nation to shutout undefeated Pitt.-Greensburg in a 0-0 double-overtime tie in the Redhawks final game of 2019. Belle started 15 games and appeared in all 16, she recorded four shutouts, 65 saves, a .793 save percentage and a 1.13 GAA in 1,350 minutes of play. 

In her Freshman campaign, Mineard led the Redhawks with seven goals and added two assists totalling 16 points, also a team-high. Ashley notched two game winning goals this season and ripped 30 of her 42 shots on net (.714 shot on goal percentage). The Beaver Falls native started in all 14 games she was available, missing two due to injury.
