Women's Soccer Outshoots Regional Ranked Mt. Aloysius, La Roche Upended 2-0

CRESSON, PA -- The La Roche woman's soccer team fell to Mt. Aloysius on the road in their second conference game. The Redhawks entered halftime even with Mt. Aloysius but the Mounties capitalized on their opportunities in the second half and earned the 2-0 victory. The Redhawks fall to a 0-2 in the AMCC.

The Redhawks worked hard and stayed organized in the first half. They held a 17-14 shot advantage on regionally ranked Mt. Aloysius. Sam Chambers provided 6 of the 17 shots.

The Redhawks came out with energy and determination in the first half. An Alondra Gonzalez shot in the fourth minute set the tone for the half. The offense stayed on their toes and outshot Mt. Aloysius 6-5. The defense stayed calm and organized, requiring goalkeeper Jess Welka to make just one save. They stayed strong in the back and the Redhawks kept the score even at 0-0 entering halftime.

Mt. Aloysius struck hard and fast to start the second half. In the forty-seventh minute they scored on a shot into the upper right corner. The Redhawks did not give up, staying connected and outpossessing Mt. Aloysius. However, Mt. Aloysius netted their second goal in the seventy-seventh minute, scoring on a throw in. The Redhawks could not finish their opportunities and unfortunately lost in a 2-0 final.

The Redhawks will come together on Saturday when they host D'Youville.
