Redhawks Fall to Westminster in Final Tuneup Before Conference Play
PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche women's soccer team closed non-conference play with a 3-0 loss to Westminster on Tuesday afternoon.

The Redhawks defense was on the same page early, drawing two offsides traps in the early portion of the contest. La Roche had plenty of scoring opportunities in the first half. Kerri Phillis slipped through the defense for three shots while Marissa Johnson and Alondra Gonzalez had quality chances.

The first half's lone tally came for Westminster in the fortieth minute. La Roche was called for a foul inside their own box and Westminster's Jocelyn Gillette stepped up and placed it into the left side of the net.

Gonzalez came out with two quality scoring chances in the second half. La Roche continued to attack the net, but Gillette created a cushion with a goal in the sixty-sixth minute. The Titans Marissa Grande netted a give and go in the eighty-eighth minute for the final goal.

Welka made 10 saves.

The Redhawks are back in action on Saturday. They will host Penn State Behrend in their AMCC opener.
