Women's Soccer Expected to Compete for Postseason Berth

The La Roche women's soccer team is expected to compete for a 2018 postseason berth, as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference coaches' voted the Redhawks as the fifth best team in the conference. La Roche placed fifth in the AMCC in 2017 and advanced to the AMCC Tournament Quarterfinals.

The Redhawks return eight starters including AMCC Preseason Players to Watch, Marissa Johnson and Kerri Phillis. Johnson was a 2017 AMCC All-Conference Second Teamer. She had a knack for scoring big goals and put three in the back of the net from her defensive position. Phillis is a four-year starter and a third team all-conference selection. She ranked 12th in the AMCC in goals and ranked second on the team in goals, assists, and points.

Returning starters include Tea Miksch, Sam Chambers, Amber Kubiak, Carly Wilson, Jessica Nakamura, Isabelle Orange, and Jessica Welka.

La Roche opens with a September 1st game against Geneva. They will welcome Penn State Behrend to campus on September 22 for their AMCC Conference Opener
