Women's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker In AMCC Tournament Semifinals

BRADFORD, PA -- #6 La Roche women's soccer (9-7-3) fell to #2 Pitt-Bradford (13-5) 0-0 (3-1 Penalty Kicks) in a double overtime matchup in the AMCC Tournament Semifinals on a cold and rainy Wednesday. The Lady Redhawks battled all game and went toe-to-toe with the second-best team in the AMCC Conference for 110:00 minutes before the host Panthers squeaked out a win.

Nicole Ferraco scored first in PKs to put La Roche up 1-0 but Pitt-Bradford scored three unanswered goals to take the shootout round 3-1. Bethanie Moreschi and Chelsea Bahorich each had a shot on goal in regulation and Marina Mattone narrowly missed a late goal.

Maria DiPerna registered her third shutout in a row and her fourth in the past 4 games and La Roche's backline put out another tremendous effort. Ferraco, Moreschi, Mattone, and Bahorich each recorded shots for the Lady Redhawks.

Despite the loss, La Roche women's soccer had another strong season clinching their 16th consecutive AMCC Tournament appearance and advancing to their 11th semifinals.
