Moreschi Scores Twice in Conference Loss to Altoona

PITTSBURGH, PA – Bethanie Moreschi recorded her second multi-goal game in the past three games in the Lady Redhawks' (3-5-1) 3-2 loss to Penn State Altoona (1-9, 1-1) on Tuesday in AMCC Conference play.

La Roche answered both of Penn State Altoona's first two goals after the visiting Lions took 1-0 and 2-1 leads. Moreschi scored her first goal by dribbling on the endline and then headed in a perfect corner kick from Alex Rogers. Penn State Altoona's Anne Valiando broke the 2-2 with a breakaway goal in the 84th minute.

Moreschi finished with 2 goals on 11 shots and Rogers added an assist. Sarah Stierer attempted a career-high 6 shots and Jessica Greco registered 4 shots. Goalkeeper Maria DiPerna made 8 saves for the Lady Redhawks.

Despite the loss, La Roche attempted 37 shots and reached goal on 20 of them. They also attempted 7 corner kicks.

La Roche women's soccer will look to avenge a 2-0 loss last year when they host Waynesburg on Thursday.
