Davis Makes Six Stops in Loss to Geneva

PITTSBURGH, PA – Lady Redhawks' goalkeeper Destiney Davis made 6 stops and Shelby Novak had 2 shots on goal but La Roche women's soccer (1-2) fell to Geneva College (2-2) 2-0 in an AMCC vs. PAC matchup on Monday.

The Lady Redhawks best scoring chance came in the 22nd minute when Jessica Greco hit a shot off the right post. Bethanie Moreschi had a quality chance on a free kick in the second half but sailed a shot just over the crossbar.

Moreschi led La Roche with 3 shots and Erin Barefoot and Shelby Novak added 2 apiece. Greco, Nicole Ferraco, Emily Irwin, and Hayley Shaw finished with 1 shot each.

Despite the loss, the Lady Redhawks recorded 8 second half shots and attempted more corner kicks than Geneva.

La Roche women's soccer will travel to St. Vincent College on Friday, September 14. Last season, both teams played to a 1-1 tie in double overtime.
