Redhawks Continue Winning Ways, Defeat Ursuline 20-10

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – La Roche women's lacrosse had early struggles on the road against Division II Ursuline, but would settle in to defeat the Arrows, 20-10.

The first quarter belong to Ursuline, setting the Redhawks back 3-0 in the first 8:50 of play.

Jade Fuccaro would finally put La Roche on the board at 5:06, assisted by Alex Mecchia, but another pair of Arrow goals moved the deficit to 5-1.

Jasey Reiser would capitalize late in the first, with 1:56 to go, making it 5-2 and the momentum set the tone for the rest of the game.

Reiser and Fuccaro were on fire in the second quarter, with Reiser netting four goals and Fuccaro scoring two and helping on one, to give La Roche an 8-7 lead at the half.

Kinsey Sperling contributed a pair of assists in the second and Alecia D'Urso also had an assist.

The scoring just continued out of the break, as Fuccaro set up D'Urso just 50 seconds in to start the scoring.

Sperling, Fuccaro twice, Kiki Nemcek and Reiser all scored in the frame, with Mecchia, Sperling and Reiser all tacking on assists to build a 14-8 lead going into the final quarter.

La Roche didn't stop in the fourth, outscoring the Arrows 6-2, behind three more Fuccaro goals and an assist, a goal and two assists from Reiser, goals by Nemcek and D'Urso, as well as an assist by Sperling.

Fuccaro would go on to tie the school record for points in a game (11), scoring eight goals, with three assists, while Reiser also had a 10-point game, scoring seven goals with three assists of her own.

The shot total ended in favor of La Roche, 39-23 and shots on goal were 32-15.

La Roche returns home for AMCC play and Senior Day on Saturday, Apr. 5, when they host Alfred State at 1 p.m.
