Women's Lacrosse Announces Three Additions To 2024 Class

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche head women's lacrosse coach, Lisa Evans, announced the addition of three incoming recruits to the 2024 class on Wednesday.

Jaina Ilko

Ilko comes to La Roche from Gannon University, where she completed her Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences.

Ilko will be an incoming junior, but didn't play lacrosse for Gannon, but will make her return to the field for the Redhawks.

Ilko is a high school graduate of Ambridge High School and during her playing days with the Bridgers, she was the team's co-captain.

Quote from coach:
"Jaina is a true two-way midfielder who is going to give us a lot of energy and fire between the 30's. She's an incredibly hard worker who can make big plays on defense and also find the back of the net with her speed and agility."

Alecia Durso

Hailing from Odenton, Md., Durso joins the red and black after a stellar senior campaign at Archbishop Spalding High School.

Durso put up 36 goals and 54 assists in her senior campaign, while also reaching honor roll status in the classroom.

Durso also played club lacrosse at Uproar Club.

Quote from coach:
"We are extremely fortunate to have Alecia join our offense this year. Her lacrosse IQ and exceptional stick skills will give our attacking unit tons of new looks and creativity. She's a threat both as a dodger and a feeder, who sees the field incredibly well."

Nicole Schroeder

Schroeder is another high school graduate addition for La Roche, as the attacker is coming from Butler High School.

Quote from coach:
"Nicole is a gritty attacker with solid hands and a smooth finish. She's also excellent at redefending out of our offensive zone. We'll look to her to get the ball back on offense and give us second chance looks to the cage."
