
PITTSBURGH, PA - Women's Lacrosse played their second United East Conference Matchup this afternoon against the Lancaster Bible College Chargers.
The bright spot for the team was the four goals scored against a tough Chargers goalie. Cece Liguori, Kinsey Sperling, Jude Fuccaro, and Isabella Fittipaldo each netted one for the Redhawks.
Liguori also scooped 4 ground balls, and 3 caused turnovers.
On the defense side of the field, Alexandra Mecchia earned 4 ground balls, 4 draw control wins, and 3 caused turnovers in the second lacrosse contest ever. Janelle Amadio in her first collegiate lacrosse contest earned 3 caused turnovers and 1 ground ball.
Once again leading the Redhawks in goal was Jules Hornikel. The freshman goalie earned her 100th career save this afternoon and ended the game with a total of 104 saves for the year so far in her inaugural season at La Roche.
Hornikel caused 5 turnovers, scooped up 7 ground balls, and recorded 5 saves.
La Roche will take the week off before making the six-hour drive to face off with conference opponent St. Mary's (MD) on Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 AM.
