Women's Bowling Sweeps Altoona at Home, 3-0

McCANDLESS, Pa. - The La Roche women's bowling team defeated Penn St. Altoona in all three games this afternoon at the Redhawks home venue, Perry Park Lanes in the teams final regular season matches of the season. LRU will compete at the second AMCC Round Robin on March 8th & 9th and finish their season at the AMCC Championships March 20th-22nd. 

Today, the conference opponents played two best-of-five baker matches and one traditional match. 

The first match of the day was played in best-of-five baker format. The Redhawks outscored the Lions in all five games, winning the first match 710-640. La Roche bowled their best score of the day in the third game where they posted a 176. 

In the second match, also played in best-of-five baker format, LRU jumped out to an early lead, up 266-207 through the first two games. Then, the Lions responded by outscoring the Redhawks 295-260 in the next games. La Roche headed into the final game with a slim 20 pin advantage. Then, in the final game, La Roche best Penn St. Altoona 134-93 to win the match 660-595. 

The third and final match of the day was played in the traditional format. All five Redhawks bowled over a 120, led by Freshman Ashley Kennedy who bowled a 168, as LRU went on to win 718-613. 

La Roche has defeated Penn St. Altoona in all eight meetings this season.
