Women's Bowling Finish 5th at AMCC Round Robin

ERIE, Pa. - La Roche women's bowling finished fifth overall out of ten schools at the first of two AMCC Round Robin Tournament's at Eastland Bowl in Erie, PA. This weekend's matches, which took place over Saturday and Sunday, were played in a round robin format, meaning each team played each other once. The Redhawks finished with a 4-5 record, defeating Penn St. Behrend and Pitt Bradford on day one and New Jersey City and Penn St. Altoona on day two. 

In LRU's first match against Medaille College, the Mavericks outscored the Redhawks in all five games, winning 902-658. Even though the Redhawks bowled their best game in the first (157), the match would prove to be La Roche's lowest point total of the tournament. 

The Redhawks then picked up their first victory of the day and third of the invite against New Jersery City, 715-663. La Roche lost the first game by just a single pin but outscored NJC over the next two games 280-241 to take a 38 point advantage. La Roche would win the fourth game decisively, 145-119, giving them a 64 pin lead heading into the fifth and final game. Despite the Redhawks being outscored by eight in the final game, they would win the match.

La Roche carried their momentum into the third match versus Penn St. Altoona. LRU won the first three games, bowling over 140 in each, and the final game to pick up their second win of the day, 700-635. The Redhawks are 5-0 against the Lions this season.

The D'Youville Spartans defeated La Roche in the ninth and final match of tournament, 831-677, winning all five games. 

The Redhawks averaged 144.1 per game and accumulated a total score of 6,486 in 45 games at the tournament.
