Redhawks Collect Two Wins at Day One of AMCC Invite

ERIE, Pa. - The La Roche women's bowling team picked up two wins at Day One of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, hosted by Penn St. Behrend at Eastland Bowl. The Redhawks competed in five, best-of-five baker matches decided by total pinfall. LRU scored over 700 in all but one of their matches on the day, bowling their two highest totals of the season against Pitt Bradford and St. Vincent. 

La Roche opened play with a loss against Mt. Aloysius, 715-948. The Redhawks averaged a 143 per game total in their first match against the Mounties. 

The Redhawks got their first win of the tournament against Pitt Bradford, 780-684. LRU bowled their best scores of the day in the first and fourth games against the Panthers, totalling 185 in each of those games. The Redhawks averaged 156 per game in the win. La Roche owns a 3-1 record against Pitt Bradford this season. 

The closest set came in match three against Hilbert. The Redhawks would lose by just 22 pins to the Hawks, 707-685. 

First place Saint Vincent College defeated La Roche in their fourth game of the day, 949-788. Despite losing the match, the Redhawks bowled their highest total of the season against the Bearcats, averaging 157.6 per game. 

LRU grabbed their second win of the day against the hosts, Penn St. Behrend. After trailing by a slim margin, 455-447, after three games of play, La Roche outscored the Lions by 68 in the final two games to go on to win 768-708.
