Ashley Kennedy Shines in Day Two at Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. -  The La Roche women's bowling team competed in day two of the Red Flash invitational Saturday afternoon at Holiday Bowl in Altoona, PA. LRU played five traditional matches against three Division I schools, and one Division II school; two of the D-I schools are nationally ranked. Despite the Redhawks losing all five matches, the team stepped up to the challenge and bowled some of their best games of the 2019-20 season.

Freshman Ashley Kennedy excelled tremendously on the day, leading the Redhawks with an impressive total pinfall of 929 (185.8 average).

Head Coach Diane Jones said "after a rough day yesterday, Ashley really stepped up her game today and Belle was very consistent on a tough pattern. This event was the first three day, long format for the team. It has been a valuable learning experience for them."

Felcian: 761 | La Roche: 680

The Redhawks dropped the first match of the day against Felician University. Alyssa Smith bowled a team-high 166, her highest score on the day.

#9 Youngstown St: 1004 | La Roche: 689

The ninth ranked team in Division II, Younstown St, bowled their highest score on the day against LRU. Ashley Kennedy bowled a team-high 190.

Saint Francis: 840 | La Roche: 736

The host team defeated the Redhawks by 104 pins. La Roche's total of 736 is their second highest this season. Kennedy led the way once again with 191.

#13 Mt. Saint Mary's: 843 | La Roche: 725

Ashley Kennedy bowled the highest score in the Redhawks match against undefeated, Division II, nationally ranked Mt. Saint Mary's, totalling a 210, her best mark on the day.

Felcian: 778 | La Roche: 717

La Roche played their closest match of the day in a rematch with Felician, losing to the Golden Falcons by just 61 pins. Kennedy bowled a team-high 177.

Isabelle Orange: 692 pins (138.4 average)

Alyssa Smith: 686 pins (137.2 average)

Jessica Nakamura: 676 pins (135.2 average)
