LRU Matches Up Against the Mounties at Playmor Lanes

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche women's bowling team took on the Mt. Aloysius Mounties for the second time this season earlier this afternoon at the Brunswick Zone Playmor Lanes in West Mifflin. The teams played three total matches, two in the traditional format and one five-game baker. In LRU's inaugural match at My. Aloysius on October, 19th, the Mounties defeated the Redhawks in a five-game baker and a traditional match by total pinfalls of 871-601 and 739-669.

In the first match of the day, played in the traditional format, the Redhawks had a season-high total pinfall of 710, 30 more pins that their next highest. Freshman Ashley Kennedy (Warminster,PA/William Tennent) led the way bowling a 171. For the first time in their inaugural season, all five Redhawks bowled higher than a 120. Despite a stong performance, the Mounties won 802-710. 

Senior Jessica Nakamura (Alea, HI/Kamehameha Kapalama), Women's Soccer AMCC All-Conference Second Team Defender, bowled a team best 182 in the second match of the day, also played in the traditional format. Three other Redhawks bowled over 125. Mt. Aloysius would win the second match 819-602. 

In the final match of the day, a five-game baker, Kennedy was the only Redhawk to bowl over 100. The Mounties went on and trounced the Redhawks 463-843.
