
GREENSBURG, Pa. – La Roche women's basketball traveled to Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday night, cruising past the Bobcats, 67-38.
The opening quarter was even early, as La Roche saw itself trailing with the clock reading 6:50, 7-6.
The rest of the quarter was all Redhawks, using an 11-0 run to move ahead, 17-7 and a total run of 15-2, leading 21-9 at the end of the frame.
In the second quarter, the red and black used yet another 11-0 run in the later stages of the quarter to continue building the lead, eventually taking a 37-17 edge into the half.
Out of the locker room, La Roche dominated. After scoring the first nine points, then allowing a quick 6-0 run, the Redhawks scored the final 15 points across 6:23 to take a 61-23 lead into the fourth.
La Roche would go into cruise control from there, closing out the victory.
For the game, the Redhawks shot 32.1% (27-for-84) from the floor and 4-for-26 (15.4%) from deep. From the charity stripe, they went 9-for-11 (81.8%).
On the other side, the Bobcats went on to shoot 26.3% (15-for-57) from the field, 2-for-17 from deep (11.8%) and 6-for-10 (60%) from the foul line.
Alexis Robison, fresh off her career-high 42 points against Hilbert, again led the scoring with 29 points to go alongside seven rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Makayla Abram followed with nine points and 12 rebounds.
La Roche returns to the court next Wednesday, Feb. 19 for a matchup against Carlow. Opening tip at the Kerr Fitness Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
