
BRADFORD, Pa. – La Roche women's basketball hit the road to face Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, winning its ninth straight, 82-67.
The opening quarter was a battle and it was the Panthers leading just shy of the midway point, 10-6.
The Redhawks would storm ahead, using a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to take over the lead at 16-10, and ultimately 16-12 at the end of the second.
The red and black pushed the pace in the second, opening a double-digit lead with 2:57 remaining.
By the time halftime reached, La Roche built the lead up to 13 points, holding a 35-22 edge into the break.
Out of the locker room, the Redhawks lead ballooned to 21, scoring the first eight points of the third, making it a 43-22 game.
By the midway point of the third quarter, the red and black moved its lead to 25 points, 51-26 and held that same 25-point lead at the end of the quarter, 63-38.
In the fourth, La Roche moved the needle to 31 points, but down the final five minutes, Bradford battled back to trim the deficit to the eventual final.
For the game, the Redhawks shot 45.2% (33-for-73) from the floor and 3-for-10 (30%) from deep. From the charity stripe, they went 13-for-20 (65%).
On the other side, the Panthers went on to shoot 36.8% (25-for-68) from the field, 8-for-29 from deep (27.6%) and 9-for-11 (81.8%) from the foul line.
Four Redhawks ended the night in double figures, led by Makayla Abram.
Abram ended the night with 18 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the floor, alongside seven rebounds and a pair of steals.
Jazmine Dunn followed with a line of 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals, while Dasja Anderson contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Avina Norman added 10 points off the bench, four rebounds and a pair of blocks.
La Roche returns to the court Wednesday, Feb. 5 for a matchup against Penn State Behrend. Opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
