
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche women's basketball returned home to face Pitt-Greensburg for an AMCC matchup Wednesday and again dominated, coming out on top, 96-50.
The opening quarter was even the first 3:24 of play as the Redhawks held a slight 6-4 lead.
With 6:31 to go, the red and black began a 14-2 run to close the quarter and storm ahead 20-6 going into the second.
The second quarter opened with La Roche pushing the lead up to 26-9, but just past the midway point, the Bobcats cut the deficit down to 33-22.
Across the remaining 4:27 of the half, the Redhawks would outscore Greensburg, 13-2 and take a commanding 46-24 lead into the half.
Out of the locker room, the red and black dominated, opening with a 12-0 run to build a 58-24 lead in the first 2:27 of play.
Beyond that, in the quarter's first 8:40, La Roche outscored the Bobcats 26-4 and ultimately led 77-35 going to the fourth
La Roche continued to pull ahead in the fourth and coasted to the end for the victory.
For the game, the Redhawks shot 44.8% (39-for-87) from the floor and 7-for-28 (25%) from deep. From the charity stripe, they went a perfect 11-for-11.
On the other side, the Bobcats went on to shoot 35.3% (18-for-51) from the field, 4-for-13 from deep (30.8%) and 10-for-13 (76.9%) from the foul line.
Five Redhawks ended the night in double figures, being led by Dasja Anderson.
Anderson shot 8-for-13 from the floor, scoring 16 points to go alongside six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Alexis Robison netted 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals, while Jazmine Dunn earned a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Makayla Abram also hit for 12 points to go with four rebounds and three assists and Breanna Clemons score 11 off the bench.
La Roche returns to the court Saturday, Jan. 18 for a matchup against Penn State Altoona. Opening tip is scheduled for 4 p.m.
