Redhawks Take Down Adrian In Denison Tournament Third Place Game

GRANVILLE, Ohio – La Roche women's basketball returned to the floor Sunday afternoon in the Third Place Game at the Denison Tournament and came out victorious, defeating Adrian 62-52.

After falling behind early, 4-2, it was all Redhawks in the first quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 16-5 the rest of the way to lead 18-9 going into the second.

An Adrian free-throw opened scoring in the second quarter, only to be followed by a 10-0 run from the red and black to charge ahead 28-10 and ultimately take what would be a 36-17 lead into the brak.

Out of the locker room, La Roche opened the lead farther to 45-19, starting with a 9-2 run and continued to hold the edge at 48-34 going into the final quarter.

The final frame again saw Adrian outscore the Redhawks by four points, but the deficit was to great for the Bulldogs and the red and black cruised to victory.

For the game, La Roche shot 38.8% (19-for-49) from the floor and 3-for-14 (21.4%) from deep. From the charity stripe, they went 21-for-29 (72.4%).

On the other side, Adrian went on to shoot 29.9% (20-for-67) from the field, 2-for-20 (10%) from deep and 10-for-18 (55.6%) from the foul line.

Once again, three Redhawks went on to score in double figures, with Dasja Anderson's 19 point, four rebound and three assists leading the way.

Alexis Robison contribute 12 points and a pair of blocks, while Jazmine Dunn added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists.

La Roche returns to the court Saturday, Nov. 23 when they welcome fans for the first time in the 2024-25 home opener against Bethany. Opening tip is slated for 2 p.m.
