Redhawks Roll Again, Take Down Bobcats 98-53

GREENSBURG, Pa. – La Roche women's basketball shot tremendous from the floor on Wednesday night, taking down Pitt-Greensburg 98-53 on the road.

It was all Redhawks, but early first quarter was even as the score stood 6-5 over the first 3:39 of play.

The remaining 6:20 was all La Roche, outscoring the Bobcats 12-2 to take an 18-7 lead into the second quarter.

In the first 3:53 of quarter two, the Redhawks grew the lead to 26-9, with UPG cutting the deficit down to as low as 10 at 30-20 with 3:33 remaining in the half, but La Roche held the double digit edge, taking a 37-23 lead into the break.

Out of the break, it was all Redhawks, outscoring the Bobcats to the tune of 61-30 between quarters three and four, which included an 11-0 run in both of those quarters.

For the game, La Roche shot a fantastic 58.4% (45-for-77) from the floor and 6-for-16 (37.5%) from deep. From the charity stripe, however, they went 2-for-6 (33.3%).

On the other side, UPG went on to shoot just 33.3% (18-for-54) from the field, 5-for-20 (25%) from three and 12-for-13 (92.3%) from the free-throw line.

All five Redhawk starters hit for double figures, with Dasja Anderson in her first action of the season, matching for the team high with 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting, going alongside four rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Makayla Abram matched Anderson with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals, while Jazmine Dunn scored 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Danielle Allen netted 15 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals and Machia Hairston chipped in 14 points to go alongside a team best 15 rebounds and four steals.

La Roche returns home for a two-game home stand, beginning Saturday, Jan 13 when the Redhawks host Penn State Altoona at 2 p.m.
