Abram Named AMCC Player of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – La Roche University junior forward Makayla Abram earned AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.

Abram was dominant this past week for the Redhawks, going 2-0 and improving to 4-0 in AMCC play for the 2023 portion of the 2023-24 conference schedule.

The week opened with a 72-64 victory on Wednesday, Dec. 6 defeating Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week, where Abram put together a double-double performance of 22 points and 14 rebounds (10 offensive), going 8-for-15 from the floor.

She followed that showing on Saturday, Dec. 9 in a 92-55 win over Pitt-Bradford with a stat stuffing line of 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks, while shooting 11-for-18 from the field.

For the week, Abram averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game, while shooting 19-for-33 from the field.
