Redhawks Cruise Past Panthers 92-55 For 30th Straight AMCC Regular Season Victory

BRADFORD, Pa. – La Roche women's basketball closed out the 2023 portion of AMCC play with another dominant victory, picking up its 30th consecutive AMCC regular season win, defeating Pitt-Bradford, 92-55 on Saturday afternoon.

It was all systems go for the Redhawks in the opening quarter, kicking things off with a 14-2 run over the first 5:14 of play, before closing the opening stanza with a 28-14 lead.

La Roche opened the first 2:56 of the second quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 38-14 lead, but it was countered by a Panther run of 6-0 to make it 38-20.

Beginning at 4:50 remaining, the Redhawks would outscore Bradford 17-6 the rest of the half to take a 55-26 lead into the locker room.

Out of the break, La Roche held the Panthers to just two points in the first five minutes of play, opening a 62-28 lead, and would hold a 68-43 margin heading into the fourth.

In the fourth, with the score reading 73-48, the Redhawks put together another 9-2 run to push the lead back to 30+ at 82-50, closing out the contest with the victory for their 30th straight conference victory in the regular season.

For the game, the Redhawks shot 47.3% (35-for-74) from the floor and 8-for-23 (34.8%) from deep. From the charity stripe, La Roche went 14-for-22 (63.6%).

On the other side, the Panthers went on to shoot 34.9% (22-for-63) from the field, 3-for-22 (13.6%) from three and 8-for-15 (53.3%) from the free-throw line.

Four Redhawks hit double figures, with Makayla Abram's second consecutive dominant performace of 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks leading the way.

Machia Hairston put together another double-double of her own, scoring 15 points to go with 13 rebounds, while Alexis Robison netted 17 points and Jazmine Dunn had a near triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

La Roche has two more road matchups prior to the New Year, both in non-conference play, beginning with Thiel on Saturday, Dec. 16. Opening tip is slated for 2 p.m.
