Women's Basketball Takes Home a Win to Closeout 2022

BEAVER FALLS, PA - This afternoon women's basketball got in one last game before we enter 2023 and the conference season. The Redhawks came home with a win against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes, 88-65.

The contest was not an easy win for the team. There were 4 ties, and 7 lead changes throughout the course of the game.

Machia Hairston for La Roche recorded yet another double-double. The senior led both sides of the court, netting 23 points, and coming out victorious with 12 rebounds.

This effort earned the Redhawks the ability to be able to win each quarter by a small margin, but it wasn't enough to be called some breathing room. It wasn't until the third quarter that the team was able to outscore Geneva by 15 points to give themselves some leeway.

Danajah Sanders was a large part of this as the senior earned 16 points for her team.

Alexis Robison followed suit and also put up 10 points.

The team will kick off 2023 with their first conference match-up of the season, an away contest against Pitt-Bradford; tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
