Redhawks to take on the Flying Dutch on March 4

PITTSBURGH, PA - This past Saturday the women's basketball team of La Roche University claimed their second consecutive, and ninth AMCC women's basketball title.

In doing so, the Redhawks have automatically earned an NCAA bid to the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament.

The team will hit the road where they will take on the Flying Dutch of Hope College on March 4, at 7:00 PM.

This will be Coach Kam Gissandanner's seventh NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013.

In this past weekends' contest, Danajah Sanders led the Redhawks with 19 points; she averaged 13.7 points per game.

Makayla Abram and Ayanna Mazyck both average 12+ points per game; Mazyck also averages eight rebounds per game. In the AMCC Championship game Mazyck netted a total of 12 points.

The unsung hero of the Redhawks team is Machia Hairston. Hairston averaged eight rebounds per game as well, but in the final AMCC game of the season, she had 20 rebounds paired with 10 points.

Don't count the Redhawks out, they'll be rolling into Holland, MI ready for a battle.
