Cole, Mazyck and Anderson Selected to All-Conference Teams

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - Three La Roche women's basketball players were recognized for their stellar seasons Tuesday afternoon when the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced it's postseason awards.

Jenna Cole was selected on the first team All-Conference first team. Cole has made the AMCC All-Conference team all four years of her distinguished career (First Team (2x), Third Team (2x)).  In her first season with La Roche, Ayanna Mazyck was awarded the defensive Player of the Year and picked on the All-Conference second team. Dasja Anderson was also named a member of the All-Confernece second team.

Senior F Jenna Cole has played some of her best ball this season against AMCC opponents. In conference play, Cole averaged 16.0 points per game (6th in AMCC) and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 52.3% from the field (5th in AMCC), 42.9% from 3-PT range (1st in AMCC) and 91.3% from the free throw line (1st in AMCC, 5th in D-III). Jenna scored a season-high 28 points in a win against Penn St. Behrend on February 8th where she shot 10-13 from the floor. She grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and added 20 points in a win over Hilbert on January 18th. Cole has recorded three double-doubles and has scored 20 or more points in five games this season. Jenna was named the AMCC Athlete of the Week on January 21st.

Junior G Ayanna Mazyck has been excellent for LRU on both sides of the ball this season. In conference play, Mazyck has averaged 14.9 points per game (8th in AMCC), 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game (4th in AMCC) while shooting 48.7% from the field (6th in AMCC) and 34.7% from three-point range (9th in AMCC). Ayanna scored a career-high 22 points in a close win over Pitt Greensburg on February 19th; she has scored 20 or more points in four games this season. Mazyck has recorded a team-high five double-doubles this season. Ayanna also posted a conference single game season-high of eight steals in a win over Penn St. Altoona. She was named the AMCC Player of the Week on December 23rd.

Sophomore F Dasja Anderson has one of La Roche's most efficient players and leading rebounder. At 5-9, Anderson has averaged 11.9 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game (12th in AMCC), 2.9 assists per game (10th in AMCC) and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 52.1% (3rd in AMCC) from the field. Dasja scored a career-high 24 points in a road win at Franciscan on January 15th. Anderson reeled in a season-high 13 rebounds on two separate occasions and has recorded 10 or more rebounds in six games this season. She also has two double-doubles and has posted multiple assists in all but two games this season.
