La Roche (8-4, AMCC: 8-0)

Last Time Out: The lady Redhawks took down Penn St. Behrend on the road last Saturday (1/11) at the Junker Center, 83-65. Senior forward Jenna Cole scored her 1,000th career point as a Redhawk and led the team in scoring with 18 points while shooting 6 of 9 (67%) from the field and 4 of 6 (67%) from beyond the arc. Shaundrea Butler had another extremely solid performance. She finished with a team-high 18 points and added 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals while shooting 5 of 11 (45%) from the field, a perfect 2 of 2 from beyond the arc and 6 of 7 (86%) from the free throw line. The Redhawks knocked down a season-high 12 three-pointers on only 22 attempts (55%, also a season-high). La Roche led for the entirety of the contest.

News and Notes

  • Jenna Cole became just the 14th Redhawk in program history to join the 1,000 point club. She did so in only three years with La Roche. Jenna has totaled 1,403 points (and counting) in her collegiate career. The reigning AMCC Player of the Year has averaged 14.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in eight conference games this season. Cole has also shot an AMCC best 89.3% from the line, knocking down 25 of 28 free-throws this season.
  • At 8-0 in AMCC action, LRU remains at the top of the conference standings as the only team still undefeated in league play. Hilbert College sits one game back of the Redhawks at 7-1 in AMCC action.
  • The Redhawks have won 13 straight regular season conference games dating back to last season.
