Redhawks Defeated At Greensburg

GREENSBURG, PA The La Roche Women's Basketball team lost their first AMCC Conference game of the season at Pitt Greensburg tonight (70-74). While the contest was close throughout, clutch free throws by the Bobcats secured the win. 

Jenna Cole lead the team with 16 points. Jenna and Dalezsa Regan got 10 rebounds while Shaundrea Butler got 7 steals. The Redhawks won the battle of the board with 43 rebounds (18 being offensive). Pitt Greensburg had 40 rebounds with (12 offensives). La Roche also had more steals (10) compared to Pitt Greensburg (6). 

Shaundrea Butler scored the first to points of the game with a layup and La Roche jumped to an early lead (6-2). Pitt Greensburg responded with an 11-0 run to take the lead (18-12) after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Redhawks started to go to work in the paint as Dasja Anderson and Jenna Cole made their pressence known. However, the home team followed suit by attacking the rim and brought the halftime score to La Roche 25 - Greensburg 35. 

Pitt Greensburg used the third quarter to extend the lead. They would need all of it as the Redhawks, not giving up, stayed focused and played their best quarter of the game in the final period. La Roche fought hard with a 13-5 run capped by a Danajah Sanders three, but came up just short. Greensburg sealed it at the line for a final score of (74-70).

The Redhawks will continue AMCC Conference play on the road Saturday at D'Youville at 2pm.
