Anderson Registers Double-Double in Redhawks Loss to Lycoming

YORK, PA -- Dasja Anderson registered her first career double-double, but the Redhawks fell to Lycoming 67-59 on the final day of the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament. La Roche will play in Crescent Hills, KY next Saturday-Sunday in the Julie Costello Memorial Classic at Thomas More.

Anderson finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds on her way to the double-double. Dalesza Regan brought down 10 boards and Jenna Cole reached double-figures for the third straight game (14 points). Shaundrea Butler fell just short of a double-double with 10 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals. 

La Roche outscored Lycoming in the first and third quarters while the Warriors took the second and fourth quarters.

The Redhawks closed the first quarter on an 11-6 run to to enter the first break with a 20-18 lead. La Roche controlled the turnover battle and they turned six steals into points.

Lycoming opened the second quarter on a 15-2 run and headed into the locker room with a 41-29 advantage. The Redhawks hit just 4 of 13 second quarter shots and turned the ball over seven times.

La Roche recovered with a big third quarter. They trailed 50-38, but closed the quarter on a 10-0 run. Anderson sparked the run with an offensive rebound and put back. Cole drained a three just before the buzzer to get the Redhawks within two. Cole evened the entire Lycoming team with 9 third quarter points. 

Anderson converted a three point play early in the fourth quarter for a 54-53 lead. Lycoming answered with a 10-0 run and held on for the win.

The Redhawks held a 38-35 advantage on the boards.
