PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche softball was back in action on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Bethany. Game one went in favor of the Bison, while game two also went to the visitors, 11-2.
GAME ONE: Bethany 9 La Roche 0 F/5
Game one was all Bison from the start, scoring four in the top of the first inning.
Bethany then added on a run in the top of the third and two in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Klover Haberthier suffered the loss, throwing all five innings, allowing nine runs (six earned), 10 hits and walked one.
Offensively, the Redhawks ended with four hits, with four players picking up singles.
GAME TWO: Bethany 11 La Roche 2 F/5
Bethany opened game two with the lead again, scoring a pair of runs to take an early 2-0 lead.
This time, La Roche battled back scoring a run on an RBI fielder's choice by Emma Bizay and another run crossing on an error. Unfortunately, it ended the scoring for the Redhawks in game two.
The Bison would go on to score in every inning, including two runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings and three runs in the third.
In game two, Emma Kaufman took the loss, throwing 2.2 innings, allowing seven runs, four hits and five walks.
Kynnydy Lewis tossed 1.1 innings, allowing four runs, four hits and two walks, while Haberthier allowed just one hit in one inning.
Offensively, the Redhawks had six hits, with Brooke Murgenovich leading the way going 2-for-3.
La Roche gets a week off before returning to action on Thursday, Mar. 27 when they host Waynesburg in doubleheader action. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
