NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - La Roche softball's junior shortstop, Emma Bizay, earned AMCC Player of the Week after a huge week at the plate for the Redhawks, announced by the conference on Monday.

La Roche opened the week with a doubleheader on Wednesday against Bethany, where Bizay was nearly unstoppable at the plate.

In game one's defeat to the Bison, Bizay went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored, slugging 1.333. In game two's victory over Bethany, Bizay was a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish, including another double, drew a walk, drove in three runs and scored a pair of her own.

In Saturday's home opening doubleheader against St. Vincent, Bizay stayed hot offensively, scoring a pair of runs, reaching base twice in game one's 10-6 victory, while scoring two more runs, while in game two's defeat, Bizay belted a double and once again scored two runs.

For the week, Bizay hit .571 with a .625 OBP and .857 slugging percentage, adding four doubles, three RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of walks.
