Softball Splits with Penn State Fayette

LEMONT FURNACE, PA - La Roche Softball played their first games since returning from spring training in Florida. The team took a quick road trip to face off with Penn State-Fayette. The Redhawks brought home a split with Penn State Fayette Nittany Lions. 

GAME ONE

The Redhawks opened game one of their doubleheader with a bang. Garrah Milochik drove in the first run with a single. The second inning is where La Roche really came alive. 

Garrah Milochik and Brandi Clyde both smacked doubles. Kennedi Winslow and Abby Hoffman each recorded a single. Together, they drove in a total of 6 runs in the second inning. 

Alexis Myers was credited with the victory for the Redhawks. The righty surrendered six runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out one.

Emma Bizay and Macy Vignolini each also recorded doubles of their own.
Milochik led the team with 3 RBIs on the day. 

GAME TWO 

The Redhawks battled hard in game two but came up just short in the end. La Roche had the lead until the fifth inning when the Nittany Lions went on a 4-run streak.

The Redhawks answered in the seventh inning with a 4-run streak of their own. Emma Bizay started the party with a fly ball to left field to bring Alexis Myers in. Abby Hoffman grounded into a fielder's choice but was able to push Maria Schussler home. Kennedi Winslow kept it going with a hard ground ball out to the center field, and Ashlee Bair followed suit with a hard hit to left field. Both Bizay and Maddie Dalverny were pushed in as a result.
Bizay also smacked a triple earlier in the contest. 

Garrah Milochik led the Redhawks offensively with 2 RBIs.
