Redhawks Close Season With Split at Pitt-Bradford

La Roche lost their first game against Pitt-Bradford.

The Redhawks were down 4-0 until the top of the sixth inning, Samantha Hunter launched a hit to deep ball to left field. Alexis Medva moved to second base, Kelly Denk to third and Brandi Clyde scored.

The Redhawks would lose that game 5-1. Alexa Young pitched all 9 innings. 70 of her 102 pitches were strikes and she struck out three.

La Roche came back to win their second game 7-6.

The first 2 innings were quiet. Then in the top of the third inning, Devan Smith singled to right field. Halie Thom advance to third and Meghan Haynes scored. In the next at bat, Devan Smith was caught stealing to second, but Halie Thom was able to sneak her way to home to help give the Redhawks a 2-0 lead.

In the next 2 innings, Pitt-Bradford put up 6 runs making it 6-2.

La Roche began their comeback in the sixth inning to end the season with a win.

Brandi Clyde reached first on a fielding error. Devan Smith advanced to second and Halie Thom scored making it 6-3. Clyde was then caught stealing at second, but Devan Smith stole home to make it 6-4. Alexis Medva then hit a two-run bomb to deep left field tying the game at 6-6.

In the top of the seventh inning, Alexis Medva made another great hit to left field, and Halie Thom would go home to give the Redhawks their final win of the 2019 season.

Devan Smith and Kayla Ordos both hit doubles. Devan Smith collected an RBI and Alexis Medva had 3 RBI's including her home run.

Devan Smith and Halie Thom both had a steal each.

Kaylee Grassmyer pitched 5.2 innings and had 3 strikeouts. Alexa Young came in to close and pitched 1.1 innings. She had 2 strikeouts.
