Penn State Behrend 6 La Roche 0

Dayna Calloway was the first runner to reach base with a one-out single down the left field line. She advanced into scoring position on a passed ball, but a groundout and strikeout left her on second.

Penn State Behrend used an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead after the first inning. They added three unearned runs in the bottom of the second, converting two errors into a 2-run double and an RBI groundout.

La Roche nearly got one aboard in the third. Devan Smith hit a one-out single up the middle and Calloway reached on an error. A wild pitch allowed both to advance into scoring position, but a groundout and flyout allowed Behrend to escape unscathed.

Starting pitcher Alexa Young followed with a 1-2-3 bottom of the third.

Behrend added two runs on a double up in the middle in the fourth. Young got out of a jam in the fifth, and sent Behrend down in order in the sixth. The Redhawks however were unable to find a run and Behrend hung on.

Young allowed just three earned runs over six innings.
